After Katherine’s daring escape, she’s stunned when Scotland’s king agrees to allow her to return to Avalon, but under the protection of Sir Stephan MacQuistan . . . as the knight’s wife. To reclaim her heritage, Katherine agrees. She accepts her married fate, certain that regardless of the caliber of the man, Stephan may earn her trust, but he’ll never win her love.

One of the Knights Templar, Stephan desires no bride, only vengeance for a family lost and a legacy stolen. A profound twist of fate tears apart the Brotherhood he loves, but offers him an opportunity to reclaim his legacy—Avalon Castle. Except to procure his childhood home along with a place to store Templar treasures, he must wed the unsuspecting daughter of the man who killed his family. The passion that arises between them is as dangerous as it is unexpected. When mortal enemies find themselves locked in love’s embrace, Stephan and Katherine must reconsider their mission and everything they once thought to be true . . .

Silicon Valley is my home. I love its foibles and the easy access to some of the most beautiful coastal and mountain terrain anywhere. The traffic? Not so much.

It hasn’t always been home—I’ve lived in five states and two countries. Traveling to other areas, I’m frequently reminded that what seems normal in the high-tech heartland can seem freakish, odd, or even alarming to the rest of the country.

I’m a big fan of irony, serendipity, diversity, and quirky intelligence tempered with gentle humor, and I strive to bring these elements into my writing. My characters, however, tend to take my manuscripts in directions I’ve never imagined. It can be a wild ride, but I love it when Maggie and her friends take charge.

While there are always traits that writers share with their characters, I assure you that Maggie is thinner, fitter, braver, funnier, and wittier than I am. Maggie is also more organized, efficient, poised, and better at thinking on her feet. We both love animals, a strong cup of coffee, cookies, and a cold glass of California chardonnay.

I’m a firm believer in professional organizations and am a member of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, and the Authors Guild (which sounds like it should confer robes, wands, and the ability to do magic). I particularly adore the Writers’ Police Academy, where I’ve met lifelong friends who share my excitement about learning the best ways to murder someone and get away with it.

When Maggie told me she was a professional organizer, I joined the National Association of Professional Organizers and was delighted to meet organizers who generously shared their experiences stumbling on damning evidence amongst ordinary household clutter.

I’m a Smith College graduate with a degree in Sociology and a broad smattering of other subjects. I guess that makes me well suited to examine and catalogue Silicon Valley’s unique anthropological customs. I live with and have raised excellent examples of the indigenous nerd.

Before my career as a mom, volunteer, and writer, I worked in Corporate Communications, which taught me to write compelling copy about vacuum tubes and other items of limited interest to the general public. Outside the world of the Fortune 500 and nonprofits my writing credits include first-place recognition from SouthWest Writers for a young adult short story and finalist status in contests run by Writer’s Digest, Pacific Northwest Writers, and Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators. My personal essays have been published in anthologies published by Mothers At Home and Mothers of Preschoolers.

Unjustly accused, four daring Crusaders have banded together in the Medieval Holy Land to clear their names and protect a kingdom in peril. With their unique gifts, the Brotherhood of Fallen Angels Abbey are prepared to face any challenge. But are they ready for love?

It is not the first time Roman Berg has escaped death, and it will likely not be the last. There is a price on his head, and his tall Nordic bearing makes him stand out in Damascus. The skilled builder has witnessed the destruction of his life’s work at Chastellet and the murder of innocent victims. But there is no question of retreat; he cannot rest until he rescues his allies and warns King Baldwin of a murderous plot against him. And he may need help from an unexpected ally . . .

Isra Tak’Ahn is an uncommon beauty. Part Egyptian and part English, she is as brave as she is alluring. Like Roman, she has been marked for death by her enemies and her vendetta is fiercely personal. Driven into hiding, Isra joins Roman at Fallen Angels Abbey. Within the walls of the centuries-old sanctuary on the Danube, they plan their daring return to Jerusalem—and discover that their greatest asset may be each other. But passion has no place in these dangerous times, and Roman and Isra must fight their feelings while the future of the kingdom hangs in the balance . . .

Chloe Larson is a historian obsessed with clearing the name of her grandfather, eight generations back. After his heroic exploits during the Prussian Wars his life slid sadly into oblivion and madness, taking with him the location of a queen’s priceless emerald jewels. But the discovery of a cryptic two-hundred year old journal written by a man history declared insane might offer a clue.

Finnegan Kane is a top-notch marine bounty hunter on the hunt for the Emerald Fire, a 120-foot Sunseeker yacht stolen by ruthless Caribbean pirates. It’s the kind of dirty work that keeps his antique ship restoration business afloat, but that doesn’t mean he has to put up with the fiery demands of an admittedly gorgeous historian. But when Chloe offers the one thing that practically guarantees success—the GPS coordinates of the Fire’s location—he has no choice but to forge into uncharted waters.

With danger at every turn, Chloe and Finnegan must battle against the odds to decipher a historical legacy and settle a score against a family gone mad.

Monica McCabe

Do you like stories set in unusual or exotic locations? How about unique or interesting occupations? Combine both, wrap them around romance and adventure, and that’s the kind of reading that takes you places!

It’s also a style of writing for Monica McCabe. Always a bit of an adventuress, she’s lived in and explored places like Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, Florida, Mexico, California, Maine, Washington, Canada, and yes, even Las Vegas. At every location she seized the opportunity to explore, hike, camp, raft, canoe, fly, ski, scuba-dive, or zip-line. She’s climbed glaciers and ancient Mayan pyramids, dived shipwrecks and reef caves, camped in sasquatch country, drove across the USA three times, and is now working on gathering as many official stamps in her National Park passport as she can. So far, nineteen and counting.

Also an avid reader, the writing bug bit her hard somewhere between Alaska and Montana. Slowing down enough to actually put words on paper took a while longer. She scribbled notes, played at writing a historical romance (her favorite reading), but it wasn’t until she landed in Tennessee that writing became a passion.

Now that she’s sprouted roots alongside her husband of seventeen years, tossed in two lazy cats and two happy dogs, she’s finally turned that wanderlust into crafting stories of adventure and romance. And all that travel and exploration lends realistic detail to her writing. Plus she’s been known to sneak in a bit of her own experience, and a pet or two, because they like the fame.

An epic tale of modern day Australia, where greed, desire, tragedy, and ambition collide . . .
Alexandra Ross has always known Lavender Hill will be hers one day. The grand old house, with its waving jacaranda fronds circling around it like a canopy against the white-hot Australian sun. Terri DuLong

Author of the acclaimed women’s fiction Cedar Key Series, New York Times & USA Today best selling author Terri DuLong is the author of Spinning Forward, Casting About, A Cedar Key Christmas, in the anthology, Holiday Magic, Sunrise on Cedar Key, Postcards from Cedar Key and the soon to be released (November 2013) Secrets on Cedar Key, with book 6 in the series, Binding Off to be released in 2014

Born and reared in the Boston area . . . Salem, the Witch City, to be exact, DuLong was an only child, who relied on imaginary friends for playmates. All these years later, she believes those playmates (and her love for books) led her to her passion for writing.

Married young, with three children, then divorced, Terri went to college to become a legal secretary. After remarrying, with the children getting older, she decided to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. She also continued her love for reading women’s fiction. As for her own writing, it was limited to extremely long letters to friends and keeping a journal. After working in Critical Care as an R.N., the thought of writing “seriously” became stronger, and Terri took a creative writing class at college. Encouraged by the professor, Terri began writing with the hope of publication.

With the transfer of her husband’s job to the Tampa, Florida, area, she began to work part-time as a home health RN and devote more and more time to writing. She began attending writers’ conferences to not only improve her craft of writing but also to understand the complicated world of publishing.

Attending more and more writers’ conferences, networking, reading, always working on her writing, Terri never gave up. She couldn’t. Writing was her passion and filled her soul. Queries went out; rejections came back. But she noticed the rejections were now not form letters but very nice personal correspondence. Believing there had to be an agent, editor or publisher out there who would love her work, she kept writing.

When Terri’s husband retired in 2004, the couple relocated two hours north to Cedar Key, an island off the west coast of Florida. They knew from many previous visits that the small town, surrounded as it is by Mother Nature, was the perfect place for them. And Terri’s muse went into high gear . . . lots of quirky characters, people who actually waved to you and knew your name, a place that touched her soul. She was in her element.

She wrote a women’s novel set in Cedar Key, and then she attended the Romance Writers of America Conference, summer 2007. Upon returning home, she sent off a query to Kensington Books with the required first three chapters, promptly forgot about it and got on with life . . . until December 11, 2007.

That was when Terri received an e-mail from her editor’s assistant, requesting the full manuscript. And on Feb. 26, 2008, Terri was initially offered a two-book contract from Kensington. Her debut women’s fiction novel…the first in her Cedar Key series…was released Oct. 27, 2009. Now in its second printing, Spinning Forward was named a finalist for “Long Contemporary Novel” in the 2010 New England Reader’s Choice Bean Pot Awards. And Reader’s Digest bought the rights to release Spinning Forward and Casting About in a Condensed Special Edition in December 2010 and 2011.

Terri is contracted with Kensington through 2014, with the release of book 6, FAREWELL TO CEDAR KEY.

Meanwhile, Terri’s motto remains the one that has made so many of her dreams reality: “Believe in yourself and make great things happen.”

Rhenna Morgan

I write for the same reason I read—to escape reality.

Don’t get me wrong, my life rocks. I have two, beautiful little girls, a good husband, a steady job, and the kind of friends who will take you out back and beat you if you hurt me. But just like most other women, I’ve got endless obligations.

So, when the world beats me down, I slip into something…less realistic. Romance is a must. So is steamy sex. Nothing thrills me more than the fantasy of exciting new worlds, strong, intuitive men and the sigh of, “Oh, if only that could happen to me.”

So, if you’re picking up a book of mine, expect the unlikely. In the real world, most women don’t get swept off their feet by some billionaire Adonis or fall down the bunny hole into an alternate realm. In my fictional world, it’s a pretty safe bet.

Romantic Escape for the women who need it.
